Ontario Reg. 1101 compliant
WSIB approved provider
10,000+ workers trained
Certificates valid 3 years

Ontario Regulation 1101 requires every employer to have trained first aiders on site during every shift. The ratio depends on your workplace type and number of workers. An MOL inspector who finds no qualified first aider on duty can issue an immediate compliance order — regardless of how many other certifications your team holds.

Per-worker and team pricing available. Most workplaces can be fully compliant with a single day of on-site training — with certificates valid for 3 years.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT
CERTIFICATION FOR YOUR WORKPLACE

Ontario Regulation 1101 specifies which level of first aid training is required based on your workplace type, distance from medical facilities, and number of workers per shift. We'll help you determine the right course during our call.

Most Common

Standard First Aid & CPR

1 Full Day — Certificates valid 3 years
  • Full CPR and AED training (Level C)
  • Airway management and choking response
  • Wound care, bleeding control, and bandaging
  • Bone and joint injuries — fractures, sprains
  • Medical emergencies — heart attack, stroke, diabetic emergencies
  • Shock, burns, and environmental emergencies
  • Spinal injury precautions and patient assessment
Required for: Most Ontario construction sites, industrial workplaces, and any workplace more than 20 minutes from medical aid where 5+ workers are on shift.
Lower Risk Workplaces

Emergency First Aid & CPR

Half Day — Certificates valid 3 years
  • CPR and AED training (Level C)
  • Airway management and choking response
  • Wound care and bleeding control
  • Recognition of medical emergencies
  • Basic patient assessment
  • Scene safety and calling for help
Required for: Lower-risk workplaces within 20 minutes of medical aid, or workplaces with fewer workers per shift. Confirm your requirement with us — we'll make sure you get the right certification level.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR
WORKPLACE ISN'T FIRST AID COMPLIANT

Immediate MOL Compliance Orders

Ontario Regulation 1101 requires a qualified first aider on site during every shift. An MOL inspector finding no certified first aider on duty can issue a compliance order on the spot — regardless of whether an incident has occurred.

Fines & Prosecution

Failure to maintain first aid compliance under the OHSA carries fines up to $100,000 per offence. Supervisors who knowingly allow non-compliant conditions can face personal liability and prosecution under the Provincial Offences Act.

Expired Certificates Are Non-Compliant

First aid certificates are valid for 3 years. An expired certificate does not satisfy the regulation — even by a single day. Many employers find out their certificates have lapsed only when an MOL inspector asks to see them.

Incident Liability Without a Trained First Aider

If a worker is injured and no trained first aider is present, your liability exposure in any WSIB claim or legal proceeding increases significantly. Demonstrating first aid compliance is one of the clearest indicators of a diligent employer.

Don't let an expired certificate cost you. Get your team certified this week.

ANSWERS BEFORE
YOU CALL

How do I know if my workplace needs Standard or Emergency First Aid?

It depends on your workplace type, number of workers per shift, and distance from medical aid. Generally, Standard First Aid is required for workplaces with 5 or more workers per shift, or any workplace more than 20 minutes from a medical facility. Emergency First Aid applies to lower-risk workplaces. We'll help you confirm the correct level during our call — just tell us about your workplace.

How many trained first aiders do we need on shift?

Ontario Regulation 1101 specifies the ratio based on your workplace type and number of workers. The requirement is not just one per workplace — it's one per shift, and ratios increase with workforce size. We'll walk you through the specific requirement for your workplace when we call.

Can you come to our workplace to deliver training?

Yes. On-site delivery is available across the GTA and Ontario. For groups of 6 or more, on-site training is often the most practical option — it eliminates travel time for your workers and allows training to be delivered in your actual work environment. Contact us to discuss your location and group size.

How long are first aid certificates valid?

Both Standard and Emergency First Aid certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of training. CPR must be renewed annually to remain current under most WSIB and MOL standards. We can set up renewal reminders so your team never lapses.

Is your training WSIB approved?

Yes. Our first aid training is delivered by certified instructors and meets all requirements under Ontario Regulation 1101 and WSIB guidelines. Certificates issued by our training sessions are recognized by MOL inspectors across Ontario.

How quickly can we get booked?

Most groups can be scheduled within 48–72 hours. For urgent situations — an upcoming MOL inspection, a new project start, or an expired certificate discovered on short notice — call us directly at (416) 252-7233 and we'll do everything possible to accommodate same-week scheduling.
